The Apostle Peter writes,
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
One of the places the enemy prowls is on the internet. Close to one-third of online content is pornographic. You don’t have to go looking to stumble upon it.
29% of teens (13-17) come across porn daily or weekly without seeking it out; for young adults the percentage is 48%
What might have begun as an accidental viewing and then a curiosity can become a habit, even an addiction. Viewing pornography becomes a sin that so easily entangles. It presents people as exploitable objects and promises intimacy as a commodity isolated from a loving marital relationship. Those are lies that don’t lead anywhere good or godly.
You might be reading this because you are looking for God’s forgiveness and grace to shut the mouth of the lion. Great! That journey will involve more than this post and these resources. It will involve confessing and trusting, renewing and growing and persisting, but you can experience God’s rescue and renewal. Begin to walk the way of God and shut the lion up.
